PWD Needs Assessment Survey 2026 (English)

Understanding the needs of People with Disabilities in Long Beach

Thank you for your interest in the City of Long Beach Citizens’ Advisory Commission on Disabilities (CACoD) Survey. In partnership with the California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) Department of Geography, we created this survey to better understand the experiences and needs of people with disabilities in our City. The survey consists of 31 questions and focuses on mobility, climate change, and inclusive access to community life. You can elaborate on your answers if you wish to provide more detail on the subjects. Your responses will inform policy, programmatic, and procedural changes that ensure that everyone in Long Beach has equitable opportunities to participate and thrive in the community.

Your privacy is very important. All the information you share in this survey will stay confidential, and no personal information, such as names or other details, will be included in the results.

Some questions might bring up strong feelings. If you want to skip any questions, please feel free to do so. We appreciate your responses and encourage you to answer as many questions as you're comfortable with, as it helps us better understand the experiences of people with disabilities in Long Beach and find ways to improve support and services.

You can also come back to this survey later to complete it at any time by clicking on the tab in the lower right-hand section of the page.

If you need assistance completing the survey, or have any questions about the research project, please contact Jennifer Kumiyama, Citywide Disability Coordinator, at ADA@longbeach.gov or 562-570-6257.

The survey will take about 15 minutes to complete, depending on how detailed your responses are.

At the end of the survey, there are links to City and community resources, including housing support, in-home assistance, food assistance, transportation, and more.
