End of Life Care Core Capabilities Framework Consultation

Welcome

Overview

Skills for Care has been commissioned by the Department of Health and Social Care to review and update the End of Life Care (EoLC) Core Skills Education and Training Framework, (Core Capabilities Framework) which was first published in 2017. Skills for Health have in turn been contracted by Skills for Care to facilitate the review process.

The revised EoLC Core Capabilities Framework identifies common, transferable skills, required for the delivery of high quality and compassionate end of life care across both health and adult social care settings.

A first iteration of the revised content of the EoLC framework has been drafted by the EoLC expert reference group, ahead of its anticipated publication in spring next year. This public consultation survey is inviting wider input from a wider range of stakeholders.

Responses to the survey will be treated confidentially and collated to identify key issues. The results of the survey will be used by the End of Life Care expert reference group to further develop and refine the capability framework prior to its final publication.

Please read the draft capability framework prior to starting the survey. You can download it here. The survey moves sequentially through the sections of the draft framework, and you will be given the opportunity to answer questions that relate to each section.

The survey should take approximately 45 - 60 minutes to complete

Please submit your response as soon as possible, and no later than 12 noon on Friday, 30 January.
