Global Ophthalmology Summit: 2026 Abstract Submitter

Thank you for your interest in submitting an abstract for the free paper and poster sessions for the fourth annual Global Ophthalmology Summit in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from August 7 to 9. 

Topics can include and are not limited to traditional research studies, implementation science, and programmatic work. Projects may be either U.S. or international-based. 
Case presentations will not be accepted.

Paper and poster presentations will be in person.

Deadline for submission is Friday, March 13 at 11:59 p.m. EDT. Notifications of acceptance will be sent by Friday, April 3. A maximum of two abstracts will be permitted per person. 

You will be asked to provide the following items: 
  • Title
  • Purpose (75 words or less)
  • Methods (100 words or less)
  • Results (225 words or less)
  • Conclusions (100 or less) 
  • Conflicts of Interest / Financial Disclosures, if any

Residents or fellows outside of the United States (in August 2026) interested in applying for the David Hunter Cherwek, MD Award for Global Ophthalmology Award will also be asked to share how you plan to contribute to improving global eye care. Kindly note that the award requires attendance at the Summit in person. 

Medical students, residents, fellows, or those in their first five years of practice worldwide (in August 2026) interested in applying for a research travel grant from the National Eye Institute will also be asked to share how you plan to contribute to global ophthalmology and research. Kindly note that the award requires attendance at the Summit in person.
