Screen Currency 2025 — Screen and Games Industry Survey

Background information

About this survey

Screen Currency 2025 is a landmark study on the economic, social and cultural value of Australian screen and games.

The Screen Currency Industry Survey will help us better understand the workforce and income for people, businesses, and organisations working in the Australian screen and games industry.

We are looking for responses from individuals working across the screen and games industries in creative, technical and key support roles.

What information do I need to complete the survey?

The survey includes questions about FY2024-25 income, and the nature and focus of your employment, work or organisation. It also asks about investment and expenditure, export and trade and industry outlook. All responses are confidential, and anonymous unless you choose to include your organisation’s name.

How much time will it take to complete the survey?

The survey contains both core and optional questions.

  • The core questions should take between 5-15 minutes to complete.

  • If you participate in the industry in different ways, for example a freelancer who also owns a business, you will be asked optional questions to help make the analysis more comprehensive.

How will the information I provide be used?

Individual survey responses will not be published. Your answers will be combined with others to build an overall picture, and only summary results will appear in reports, which will be published at the discretion of Screen Australia.

The data you provide will be used as part of the Screen and Games Industry Study, which is a key input into the Screen Australia Screen Currency 2025 research project.

The Screen and Games Industry Study aims to:

  • understand the current state of the industry

  • map the industry and workforce across the business value chain

  • value the benefits and dynamics of a viable Australia screen and games industry.
