Kansas SRTS Program: 2026-2027 Planning and Programming Application

Welcome to the Planning and Programming (P&P) grant application form!

Applications are due by 5pm on May 1st, 2026.

Before you start your application, gather and/or consider the following information:

Project Type
  • Is your community seeking assistance to develop a Safe Routes to School plan, or
  • Is your community seeking funding to implement education or programming (i.e., non-infrastructure) identified in a local Safe Routes to School Plan? 
Project Partners
  • Check with principal(s) or school district administration​ to confirm their support
  • Think about other partners and potential team members (teachers, public health professionals, parents, bike advocates, etc.)​
  • Gather letters of support

Community Information

  • Has your community done any Safe Routes to School or active transportation efforts in the past?
  • How have you or will you engage with underserved communities (low-income, those with disabilities, families of color, or English-language learners)?

School Information

  • Number of students​
  • Title 1 designation​
  • Free and reduced lunch eligibility​
  • Approximate travel-to-school mode split. Check with the principal or school staff.
  • Any past or existing Safe Routes to School efforts
