Aerospace Workforce Survey

Survey Description and Respondent Information

The Virginia Aviation Business Association (VABA) and Virginia Space Grant Consortium (VSGC) invite your participation in a statewide survey designed to inform workforce development programs that train and prepare Virginia’s aerospace workforce.

The aerospace sector includes a wide range of industries and occupations—from direct support to manufacturing and skilled trades to engineering, research, administrative and support services. To strengthen Virginia’s position in this vital industry, we need an updated understanding of current and future workforce demands.

The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete and is intended for all Virginia companies and organizations engaged in aerospace-related work—defined broadly, aerospace companies are those which “provide products and/or services that support all forms of equipment that operate above the blades of grass to the farthest reaches of the universe.”

If your organization contributes in any way to the aerospace sector—through manufacturing, electrical work, skilled trades, technology, or support services—we encourage you to participate.

Your responses will help shape statewide workforce development initiatives. A summary of findings will be shared with all respondents. Participation is voluntary, and all responses will be reported in aggregate and will remain anonymous in all reporting.

Please also share this survey with others in your network who have similar workforce needs and perspectives.

This survey is being hosted and administered by Magnolia Consulting, a woman-owned, small business with headquarters in central Virginia. If you experience any difficulties while taking the survey, please contact Dr. Holland Banse (holland@magnoliaconsulting.org) with questions.

1. Please provide your first and last name. We are collecting these data for tracking purposes only (e.g., to avoid duplicated responses). Your name will not be connected to your responses in any analysis or reporting.
