The ISTH has recently drafted a guidance manuscript on the specific considerations for patients with heparin-induced thrombocytopenia requiring cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass, given the accumulating evidence from a comprehensive literature review. The guidance was developed by a panel of 5 content experts.
