Welcome to the TWIST Study!

Why participate?
  • This annual survey collects information to help us better understand experiences of stigma and how they are related to health and access to care among transgender women and transfeminine non-binary people.
  • Your participation can help ensure public health resources have the greatest positive impact for the community.

Who are we?

  • A team of LGBTQ+ and ally researchers at PRISM Health, located within the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University.
  • PRISM (Programs, Research, & Innovation in Sexual Minority) Health conducts a broad portfolio of National Institutes of Health (NIH), US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and foundation-funded studies and projects, and actively collaborates with community-based organizations to conduct research, to generate theories and knowledge, and to translate findings into effective sexual health interventions and programs.

What happens next?

  • We will first ask you some questions to find out if you are eligible to participate.
  • If you are eligible, we will show you more information about the study, and if you agree to participate, you will be able to complete an online survey. You may also be offered the opportunity to complete an optional additional survey.
  • At the end of the survey, if you would like to be contacted about future research opportunities, you will have the opportunity to provide your email address. This is completely optional. We will only use your email address for research purposes, and you can unsubscribe from our contact list at any time by emailing us at TWIST@emory.edu.
