About the Carson J Spencer Young Entrepreneur Scholarship Foundation:

The Carson J Spencer Young Entrepreneur Scholarship Foundation’s mission is to provide college scholarships to students who demonstrate entrepreneurial achievement and promise.  We do this in memory of Carson Spencer who exuded an immense entrepreneurial spirit.  Carson continually talked about his desire to provide financial support to graduating seniors looking to pursue a post-secondary education to build on their entrepreneurial skills and desires.  After Carson’s passing, his friends created a foundation to fulfill Carson’s vision. 

The scholarship committee looks for the following characteristics in scholarship candidates:

• Prior examples of entrepreneurial spirit and achievement.
• Drive and strong ambition to succeed in business.
• Willingness to push boundaries and take calculated risks.
• Creative thinking, competitive nature and strong work ethic.

Scholarship Award:  $10,000 total

• Student is typically granted $2,500 a year if they attend a four year post-secondary program.  If a student attends a two year post-secondary program, they will receive $5,000 per year. 
  • The foundation pays the school directly.

In addition to the scholarship, the scholarship committee is committed to helping our award recipients build their networks to:

• Attain internships
• Source job opportunities
• Assist with their entrepreneurial ideas
