Journalists who are part of the Marang Fund media training can use this form to pitch story ideas The aim of the Marang Fund media pitching and story series is to support journalists to report diverse inclusive, ethical and accurate media stories on and for LGBTIQ communities.
The process has four parts:
- Complete the form to pitch your story to the Marang Fund project team to assess its fit for production as part of the series.
- You will receive a response, either accepting or rejecting the pitch, along with an explanation and/or suggestions.
- If the pitch is accepted, you should then produce the story as you usually would within your media outlet.
- Once the article/segment has been published, upload the details, links and story for approval to receive payment.
A note on using AI. We are deeply committed to real stories and authentic voices. While we recognise that AI can be a powerful tool to support some aspects of reporting, please be aware we do not accept AI-generated stories, photos or images. We are seeking thoughtful and authentic gender aware reporting that exemplifies the highest standards of journalistic practice.
Photographs: We’d love to see your gender aware reporting in action! Where possible, take and share photographs with us when submitting your published work if this is a written piece Please note we also accept TV and radio stories.
