Beginning in the 2025 performance year, ACOs must meet higher QP thresholds — 75% of Medicare payments or 50% of Medicare patients — to qualify as advanced APM participants (QPs). At the same time, the advanced APM incentive payment expired at the end of 2024, eliminating a key financial incentive for many ACOs.
NAACOS is committed to advocating for both the extension of Advanced APM incentive payments and the lowering of QP thresholds. To ensure our efforts reflect the priorities and realities of ACOs, we are seeking input to help inform the appropriate level for QP thresholds. Your feedback is essential to guide our advocacy and strengthen our push for policies that support ACO participation and success.
