ABOUT THIS AFFINITY GROUP
As leaders, the lens we bring to education is broad, rich, and complex - offering both enriching insights and challenging realities. This BIPOC and Mixed Roots Leaders Healing Space is designed to connect with one another in beloved community, fostering meaningful relationships while exploring how our multifaceted identities shape the way we show up, influence our teaching, and inform our leadership practices.
There are times when school leaders of color need to discuss the truths of leading educational justice work in spaces sans white people. This affinity space will empower us to envision new school leadership ways of being and doing that reimagine the schools we inhabit as soulful, sacred, and healing spaces in their own right. We will come together in generative heartspace to catalyze our collective genius and joy, freedom dream, and embrace our collective legacies of resilience.
Upcoming sessions will focus on:
- Speaking the truths of leading in white-dominant spaces
- Honoring our identity, belonging, & legacy
- Freedom dreaming and reimagining new ways of leading & being
