ABOUT THIS AFFINITY GROUP
As educators, we engage in complex social dynamics every day. It takes courage and commitment to engage in the difficult work of dismantling structures of oppression within our schools and classrooms. Recognizing that many of us who identify as white are already on the path toward divestment from whiteness, this offering is designed to support your individual anti-racism work within a collective setting. Using Layla F. Saad’s Me and White Supremacy and Dr. Cheryl E. Matias’s Feeling White as guiding texts, concepts such as white racial emotionality, racial stereotypes, anti-blackness, allyship, white saviorism, and systemic oppression will be covered.
AFFINITY GROUP DATES
The virtual affinity group will take place Saturday mornings on the following dates and times:
- October 11, 2025 — 10 AM – 12 PM
- November 1, 2025 — 10 AM – 12 PM
- January 17, 2026 — 10 AM – 12 PM
- February 21, 2026 — 10 AM – 12 PM
