CIVIC ENGAGEMENT AND COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD

Welcome to the 2026 Insight Into Academia Civic Engagement and Community Service Award application.  

This national recognition celebrates exemplary college and university programs that are making a meaningful difference through service, civic involvement, and community partnerships. Whether your initiative uplifts local neighborhoods, mobilizes student voices, or builds bridges across sectors, we want to honor the work that reflects higher education’s enduring commitment to the public good.

We welcome nominations that demonstrate impact, innovation, and intentional collaboration across a wide spectrum of service approaches—including, but not limited to, volunteerism, fundraising, advocacy, peer support, service-learning, partner collaboration, voter engagement, and more.  

We ask you to highlight how your nominated program advances public purpose, deepens community collaboration, makes sustainable positive change, and exemplifies dedication to service and civic engagement—serving as a model of excellence for others and reinforcing higher education's critical role in societal progress.

Recognition:
Each award winner will receive a free press release template to announce their national recognition and will be included in the list of winners in the April 2026 issue of Insight Into Academia magazine. We will also feature selected programs by our editorial team to highlight in the special award section.


Who can apply:
Only not-for-profit U.S.-accredited institutions of higher education can apply.

Deadline:
Nominations must be submitted by December 18, 2025, midnight EST.
