DMC Plan Update: Capturing Opportunities and Relating Challenges

Welcome to America's City for Health Vision Survey

Welcome Back—Let’s Continue to Delve Opportunities and Challenges

Earlier this summer, you helped us provide insight setting the groundwork for the DMC Plan Update. Now, we’re inviting you to take the next step.

This second survey, about 6 minutes, continues the conversation, with refinements based on what we heard from you and others across the community. We’re exploring the refined drivers that will shape the DMC Plan Update:

  • Health Innovation as an Economic Engine
Definition: We will leverage our unique scale and Mayo Clinic adjacencies and lean-in on health tech to drive innovation and economic growth— by supporting new ideas, businesses, and careers that improve lives and strengthen our economy.
  • Health Excellence as an Attractor: We will emphasize proximity to health excellence as a reason people choose to live in, work in, and visit Rochester by strengthening our reputation as America’s City for Health, wellness, community, and quality of life.
  • Health in the Built Environment: Definition: We will invest in infrastructure projects that inventively center physical and mental well-being and create safe, healthy, and sustainable places for all people.

Your insights will help guide local planning and design efforts, including work with the Mayo Clinic and other community partners. Thank you for being part of this journey toward a healthier, more connected Rochester.
