A limited number of free solar feasibility assessments are available to apartment buildings interested in getting solar in Yarra.
To be eligible for a free solar assessment, your apartment building must be located in the City of Yarra and have a minimum of 5 units interested in installing solar. Other criteria may apply.
Participating apartment buildings will receive:
- a solar feasibility assessment to demonstrate the technical feasibility, cost and projected savings of a shared solar system
- access to a strata manager pack with supporting documents and a quote comparison tool
- tailored advice and support for your owners' corporation including a Q&A with the owners' corporation.
Shared solar splits the electricity from a single rooftop solar system and divides it fairly between residents and common areas over the course of each month. A shared solar system can save 15-20% more on energy bills compared with individual solar systems.
Yarra Council is offering these free solar feasibility assessments to help apartment residents and owners' corporations prepare for getting solar. There is no funding for solar installation through this offer.
