2026 ISTH Outstanding Mentor Award Nominations

Please have required nomination materials available to you before proceeding. Incomplete nominations will not be considered.

Please submit your nominations for the 2026 ISTH Outstanding Mentor Awards by using this form.  Recipients selected will be presented with the award during the ISTH Paris Congress, July 11 - 15, 2026.

The nominator must be a current or former mentee of the nominee (only mentees where there was a formal mentorship relationship are permitted). ISTH members are permitted to make one nomination and the nominee must be a current ISTH member. Nominators are encouraged to consider diversity when making their nominations. Currently serving ISTH Councilors are not eligible to receive the award nor are previous Outstanding Mentor Award recipients. 

All materials will be evaluated according to this rubric:
  • Historical roster of mentees. Mentees must have a formal relationship with the mentor spanning over time. Generally, they would be at the same institution but if at a different institution, it is acceptable if there was a sustained relationship over time. Mentoring for individual experiences like writing a manuscript or providing informal career advice is not a formal relationship.
  • Most significant achievements by at least 2 mentees (please note, up to 10 achievements per category are permitted, not 10 per mentee):
    • Publications (up to 10 total)
    • Grants/Fellowships (up to 10 total)
    • Oral Presentations (up to 10 total)
    • Awards/Recognitions (up to 10 total)
  • Nominator's general statement on the nominee (750-word limit)
  • Letter of Support from Mentees (maximum of 2 additional, 500-word limit each)
  • CV: upload of the nominee’s abbreviated CV, highlighting the mentor’s contributions towards mentoring the next generation of professionals
  • A statement of acknowledgement from the nominee, accepting the nomination (150-word limit)

Nominations will be accepted until November 7, 2025.
