Ector County Commissioners have moved forward with a plan to build a new courthouse, replacing the existing courthouse. On 14 May 2025, Ector County held a Visioning Session where stakeholders (commissioners, judges, court personnel, City of Odessa representatives, and members of the public) actively participated to define a set of Guiding Principles. Guiding Principles represent a shared vision of all stakeholders, embody Ector County’s culture and values, and serve as a yardstick for evaluating decisions throughout the planning and design process. The courthouse is part of a new civic complex that includes the courthouse, a parking garage, the US Postal Service, the Library, and a downtown Civic Park/Plaza.
GUIDING PRINCIPLES
- Maximize safety and security for all users
- Anticipate future growth
- Design for space and flow efficiency
- Create a community hub
We now invite you to provide feedback on how the Guiding Principles translate into design features and solutions that best serve the needs and interests of the Ector County community. The survey takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and for participating in the survey.
