Intro
WSDOT is exploring how to better connect Omak, Okanogan, and Riverside by making it safer and more comfortable to walk, bike, and roll between these destinations—especially along state highways. This project builds on earlier WSDOT efforts to improve safety and access for community members.
Right now, we are studying three ideas that could help connect communities in the project area:
- A) Green Loop
- B) East Omak Connector
- C) Riverside Crossing
You can see these options on the map below. Each of these ideas builds on the shared use path WSDOT is planning along the west side of US 97.
We need your help selecting the priority alternative that you believe provides the most benefit and best connects these communities. The project team will develop a concept design and cost estimate for the selected priority alternative, so that WSDOT and the local communities can seek more funding for final design and construction.
This study is funded by the WSDOT Sandy Williams Connecting Communities grant, which focuses on improving active transportation connections for people walking, biking, and rolling along and across state highways.
