29 Sunset Improvement Project - Proposals

The 29 Sunset Improvement Project Phase Two focuses on enhancing the southern section of the Muni bus route, from Junipero Serra Boulevard and Holloway Avenue to the Bayview neighborhood. This project aims to improve the 29 Sunset’s reliability, travel times, capacity, accessibility and safety. 

After reviewing the project proposal, please share your feedback through this survey by Monday, September 15.

Stop Changes

3. The proposal aims to reduce delays and improve travel time and reliability by removing and relocating some closely spaced bus stops. How do you feel about this proposal?  *This question is required.
5. Transit Bulbs

Transit bulbs are an extension of the sidewalk into the roadway at bus stops that allows buses to stop next to the curb without leaving the traffic lane.  Bulbs can improve accessibility and reduce bus delays. How do you feel about adding transit bulbs?  *This question is required.

Conversion of Flag Stops to Bus Zones 

Flag stops are bus stops that require passengers to get on and off of buses in the street. Would you support removing some curbside parking to create designated bus zones to improve safety and accessibility?

Addition of Bus Shelters 

Would you support the addition of bus shelters at busy bus stops and/or stops that are especially exposed to wind, sun and other weather conditions?

Would you support removing one lane of northbound traffic on San Bruno Avenue between Mansell Street and Paul Avenue (two blocks)? This change would help reduce transit delays and improve safety by reducing crashes between buses and drivers.
