Following the annual Rooster Rush campaign, one community is selected as having exhibited the most involvement and showing the most enthusiasm for Rooster Rush. That community will receive the Rooster Rush Cacklin’ Community Award during the South Dakota Governor's Conference on Tourism.

Applicants need to explain, in detail, how their community/organization was involved in the Rooster Rush campaign. Supplemental materials such as photos, videos and examples of advertising/promotional efforts are encouraged.

 
Applications are due Thursday, November 13, 2025.


The award will be presented on Thursday, January 22, at the 2026 Governor's Conference on Tourism in Pierre.

Please explain, in detail, how your community/organization was involved in this year's campaign. Feel free to submit any supplemental materials such as photos, videos and examples of advertising/promotional efforts.
Applicants will be judged on the following criteria:
  • Advertising and Promotional Efforts
  • Community Participation
  • Efforts to Welcome Hunters
  • Creativity
A Word doc and/or other supplemental materials may be uploaded here. Up to six files are accepted. Max file size for each is 2 MB. File types allowed are png, gif, jpg, jpeg, doc, xls, docx, xlsx, pdf, txt, mov, mp3, mp4.
