Recent studies show fraternities are an accelerator for success both in college and beyond. Studies also show that fraternities create lifelong connections to one's campus/friends and fraternity members experience stronger mental health than their peers. Despite these benefits, from time to time, our members may experience financial hardship that impacts their ability to remain active and engaged.
To help alleviate that hardship, the Beta Theta Pi Foundation offers chapters and colonies a limited opportunity to nominate collegiate members for scholarships who are considering or were granted temporarily inactive (TIA) status. The Foundation hopes that offering $250 scholarships to those in need will greatly reduce the number of temporarily inactive Betas so that they can enjoy the full benefits of membership. Those nominated will be asked to submit a brief application to receive a $250 scholarship via direct check to the recipient.
Chapter officers, please submit this form to nominate a collegian from your chapter whose membership might remain "active" (not on TIA) if they were to receive a $250 scholarship. Note that nomination does not guarantee that the member(s) you identify will receive the assistance. Still, the Foundation will ensure those you nominate know this opportunity is available to them.
Note that nominees must be submitted individually, but there will be a link on the confirmation page to submit an additional name or two.
