Parks Professional Pathways 2026: Call for Presentations

BC Recreation and Parks Association (BCRPA) is seeking proposals to present an educational session at Parks Professional Pathways  – a two-day professional development conference scheduled for February 25 & 26, 2026  at the Coast Langley Hotel & Conventions Center.

About BCRPA’s Parks Professional Pathways
Parks Professional Pathways attracts over 300 attendees annually, including:

  • Parks directors, managers, supervisors, and coordinators
  • Planners, designers, landscape architects, and technicians
  • Horticulturists, arborists, playground and turf maintenance staff
  • Trail, equipment, and grounds crews
  • Cemetery staff and other sector trades

Parks professionals look to this conference as their sole professional development opportunity of the year, and the place to keep abreast of the latest cutting-edge trends.

Call for Presentations
We are looking for dynamic speakers and sector leaders to share:

  • Practical tools and take-home tips
  • Relevant knowledge, experience, and best practices
  • Fresh perspectives that support the work of parks professionals

All presentations must include active delegate engagement, such as:

  • Hands-on activities
  • Breakout or small group discussions
  • Q&A sessions and real-time interaction

Important Submission Information

All submissions will be reviewed using the following criteria:

  1. Overall quality of the proposal
  2. Focused and well-defined topic 
  3. Articulation of how the presenter will engage participants through interactive activities and leave participants with practical solutions and tools to take back to their workplaces
  4. Applicability of topic to a provincial audience of parks professionals
