V2-Public Comment Survey: Draft O&P Technician Standards (June 2025)

Welcome!
The National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education (NCOPE) invites your feedback on the draft CAAHEP Standards and Guidelines for the Accreditation of Educational Programs in Orthotic & Prosthetic Technology. Your input will help ensure the standards reflect the needs of the profession and the public.

Stakeholder feedback is vital to the revision process of the CAAHEP Education Standards. It ensures the standards are comprehensive, relevant, and reflective of the diverse perspectives within the orthotic and prosthetic community. Thank you for your valuable contribution to this important initiative.

The NCOPE Draft Residency Standards are 22 pages long, including Appendix B, the Core Curriculum Guide where most of the technical knowledge and skill statements exist. Please allow at least 30 minutes to review the entire document and offer feedback.  

The Survey Consists of Three Sections:

Section 1 - Respondent Information
Section 2 - Introduction and Standards I-V: The standards relate to insitutional requirements, processes, resources, record-keeping, student/graduate outcomes, and fair practices.  
Section 3 - Appendix B - Core Curriculum Guide: The Core Curriculum Guide details the specific knowledge, skills, projects, and real-world experiences students must complete in order to graduate.
