AASLD Call for Mentee Applications - Promoting Leadership Potential for Women in Hepatology

The AASLD Women's Initiatives Committee is honored to invite female physicians and APPs, within the field of hepatology, to join our leadership program with the goal of promoting the development of leadership skills, including aspects unique to female practitioners. 

Mentees will be paired with a senior AASLD faculty member and have the opportunity to meet virtually on a bimonthly basis, along with exclusive access to interactive webinars on topics of interest to the mentee group.

Who Qualifies?
AASLD physician members who are within five years of completion of their ACGME clinical fellowship in North America are encouraged to apply to this program as well as APPs who are within 3-7 years after graduation.

To be considered for this program, you must be:
- AASLD Member
- Female hepatologists (MD/DO) or advanced practice providers based in North America
- Within 5 years of completion of an ACGME-accredited gastroenterology or transplant hepatology fellowship if an MD/DO
- Within 3 to 7 years of graduation from a PA or NP program and currently employed in a gastroenterology or hepatology practice

What is the Commitment?
Available for bimonthly meetings November 2025 - November 2026, along with an in-person kick-off meeting at The Liver Meeting in Washington, DC Nov 7-11, 2025.

- Personal statement (1000 words max), which outlines the following:
o   Personal attributes that make you an ideal candidate for future leadership positions
o   Perceived barriers/personal weaknesses you have that are preventing leadership advancement
o   Outline your particular leadership goals and how you anticipate this program will facilitate you in achieving those goals

What is The Selection Process?
We anticipate the review process to conclude in late September. Those selected will be notified by email.
