Help us improve our mosquito monitoring map

West Nile Virus is a virus spread by certain types of mosquitoes. It can cause severe symptoms. There is no vaccine, so prevention efforts include wearing mosquito repellent and having awareness of where mosquitoes capable of carrying West Nile Virus may be found.

Did you know Public Health Madison & Dane County tracks mosquitoes that can carry West Nile Virus? We do this by sampling almost 700 sites throughout Dane County each summer. The sites are on publicly accessible land with good mosquito habitat, such as ditches with standing water.  We currently share our findings on this map.

We're working to share results in a more real-time map and would appreciate your input as we develop the new map.

This survey should take five minutes or less. Thanks for your feedback!
