NYCTF School Hiring Appeals Survey SY25-26

Every year, the Division of Human Resources considers the size of the alternative certification teacher pool, NYCPS priorities, and staffing data to determine which schools are eligible to hire NYC Teaching Fellows. NYC Teaching Fellows Eligible Schools List

New this year, principals must initiate the Hiring Commitment Form in the New Teacher Finder to generate an offer letter to the candidate. This is mandatory and must be completed by both the hiring manager and candidate prior to staffing. The form is only available to schools on the eligible schools list.​​​​

If your school is not on the eligible school list linked above and you have identified a teacher candidate you wish to hire, please complete this survey to request an appeal by TRQ. If your answers meet the criteria for an appeal you will be notified within 5 business days.

Exceptions will be granted if the situation falls under one of the following circumstances:
  1. The Fellow formerly served as a paraprofessional, long-term substitute teacher, or in another school-based role within the requesting school.
  2. The Fellow is an alumna/us of that school.

The school must have a current vacancy in Galaxy in the subject area.

Incomplete surveys or those without a teacher candidate named will not be reviewed.
