The Rennie Center is partnering with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education on the CUrriculum RAtings by TEachers (CURATE) Project.
CURATE convenes panels of Massachusetts educators to review evidence on the quality of curricular materials and their alignment to Massachusetts learning standards. This work will lead to a series of reports that provide guidance to schools and districts as they select high-quality core curricular materials.
Selected participants gain deep insight into the quality and alignment of a variety of curricular materials. This is a strong leadership opportunity that provides MA teachers with an opportunity to expand their influence within their schools, districts, and across the state.
Panelists will receive a stipend of up to $2000, as well as 30PDPs for their service.
As DESE is committed to centering the voices of those who have been historically marginalized in public education, we strongly encourage educators of color to apply to CURATE. DESE is also seeking applicants with experience teaching English learners and students with disabilities. The deadline for Fall 2025 panel applications is May 30, 2025. Potential Fall 2025 panels include*:
- English/Language Arts (ELA), K-5
- Math, K-5
- Math 6-12
- Science and Technology/Engineering (STE), 9-12
- History and Social Science (HSS), 9-12
