2025 GEAR UP West: Call for Proposals

Presenter Information

Submission Guidelines and Requirements:  
  • All sessions are one hour and fifteen minutes long and will typically be held in theater-style or classroom-style rooms to maximize seating capacity.
  • All presenters are required to register and pay the conference registration fee. The primary and secondary presenter registration fees will be discounted. Presenters are responsible for travel, lodging, and conference expenses. There is a limit of two reduced registrations per presentation.
  • We welcome noncommercial presentation proposals (content-focused). No sales pitches.
  • If you are a vendor, your company should contact Jacque Deahl, jdeahl@sde.idaho.gov, for details on exhibiting or sponsoring opportunities.

GEAR UP’s vision is that all students are academically, socially, and financially prepared to enter and succeed in their chosen pathway after high school, including but not limited to certificate programs, job training, apprenticeships, or college.

In 2025, we are seeking presentation proposals that:
  • Showcase effective, long-term strategies that support student achievement.
  • Introduce innovative approaches and tools for advancing access to education and work-readiness.
  • Equip GEAR UP professionals with actionable insights and adaptable resources to enhance their programs.
We are particularly interested in sessions focused on:
  • Student advocacy and empowerment
  • Collaborative efforts across education and community sectors
  • Strategies for using data to drive continuous improvement
  • Expanding opportunity for students from high-need communities. 
  • Measuring program impact through evaluation
  • Building partnerships with families and communities
  • Promoting financial awareness and planning
  • Grant and program administration
  • Supporting student mindset and motivation
  • Navigating postsecondary pathways
  • Improving transition support and persistence after high school
