The Johnson County Parks and Recreation District (JCPRD) is in the process of updating its Public Art Master Plan.
JCPRD is a special district created by the Kansas State Legislature in 1955, the only one of its kind in the state of Kansas . JCPRD oversees 18 developed parks, including four streamway parks, and offers an impressive 150 miles of scenic trails, along with two premier golf courses. Spanning more than 10,000 acres, JCPRD attracts approximately 7.8 million visitors annually, making it one of the most visited park systems in the region. JCPRD also offers over 4,200 programs each year, engaging more than 2.7 million participants. The district manages a range of state-of-the-art facilities, including a museum, an arts and heritage center, two fieldhouses, a gymnastics center, a sports dome, ten football fields, 18 soccer fields, five multi-purpose fields, 33 softball/baseball fields, and a cutting-edge aquatic center. Outdoor education facilities include a nature center, amphitheater, and challenge course with a welcome center. For more information about JCPRD, visit

The results of this questionnaire will help us shape the recommendations for the Plan Update, which will guide the Public Art Program’s work for the coming years. It should take you only ten minutes to complete, and your responses will be anonymous. By responding, you will help us to better understand your views on public art, the impact public art has had in JCPRD's parks, trails, and facilities, and how projects can best serve the community’s needs.
Thank you for taking the time to help us shape the future of JCPRD's public art. On the final page, you may enter your contact information to enter a drawing for a set of eight postcards with artwork from the
JCPRD Park Poster Project.
