TechEquity and Alphabet Workers Union-Communications Workers of America Union (AWU-CWA) are conducting a survey of US-based tech industry workers who contribute to AI systems (see full eligibility below).
The goal of this survey is to:

Understand the experience of workers who perform the labor that makes AI technology possible across companies, job types, and U.S. geographic locations.

Utilize these insights to inform public policy ideas and support the efforts of worker organizations working to build worker power.
This survey should take about 10 minutes to complete. Your participation is entirely voluntary and you will not be required to include identifying information. Additionally, if you choose to include identifying information (name, contact information) for the purposes of getting more connected to this effort, that information will not be shared with third parties without express consent from the respondent.
You are eligible to complete this survey if you meet all of the following criteria:

Reside and work in the United States and are 18 years of age or older;

Work in the tech industry, including for staffing agencies, vendors and contractors;

Have been employed within the last six months in a job that involves data for AI systems (ex: data labeling, rating, annotation, training; LLM and/or AI evaluation; reinforcement learning from human feedback and supervised fine-tuning; content moderation; etc).
Note: If you work for multiple platforms or employers, please answer the survey questions based on the company for which you are working the most hours currently.
