Connecticut National Estuarine Research Reserve Survey of Professional Development Needs

Introduction

Who we are and our survey's purpose: The Connecticut National Estuarine Research Reserve (the Reserve) has contracted Responsive Management, an independent research firm specializing in natural resources and the environment, to conduct this short survey to understand what professional development needs and interests exist on topics including storm preparedness, habitat, and water quality.

Survey goal: Your responses will help the Reserve staff plan education and training opportunities that are most valuable to you and your colleagues. All staff in your organization are invited to take the survey.

About the survey: This survey will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete depending on your responses.
Note also that all open-ended questions in the survey are voluntary. If you would prefer to skip any open-ended questions, please feel free to do so. Responses will remain anonymous, and completing the survey does not obligate you to further participate in Reserve events. The Reserve anticipates sharing more about the findings of this survey next fall as we compile and analyze results. If you would like to be notified about the results of this survey or future events, there will be an opportunity to provide your email.

About the reserve: Established in 2022, the Reserve is a part of a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) funded, national network of coastal areas designated for stewardship, research, and education of estuarine systems. The University of Connecticut is the Reserve’s state partner, and Reserve staff work in partnership with the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and other organizations to provide communities with science-based information and skills needed to address coastal management issues.
