From viral meme coins to popular browser extensions, financial trends spread rapidly—but are they savvy strategies or outright scams? This session will engage educators in analyzing recent high-profile cases, such as the Honey browser extension controversy and meme coin scandals, to develop students’ critical thinking skills around financial decision-making. Participants will explore discussion-based activities and interactive lessons that encourage skepticism, risk assessment, and informed financial choices. Educators will leave with strategies to help students navigate an increasingly complex financial landscape with confidence.
