NVI Resident Experience Survey 2025

Introduction

Thank you for taking the time to complete the Neighborhood Vitality Index survey! The results of the survey are designed to help community development organizations, funders, and city government track progress in Detroit’s neighborhoods over time.

The survey takes about 15-20 minutes to complete. Your answers are confidential, and will never be shared in a way that includes your name, address, or other information that identifies you.

Any person living in Detroit can participate (limit one survey per person). The person answering the survey must be 18 or older and must live at the reported address most of the time. If you are currently in the process of moving or without permanent housing and want to speak with someone regarding where to send your gift card, please call (313) 290-0992.

Completed responses from eligible Detroit residents will be provided with a $25 gift card (limit one per respondent). Instructions for receiving the gift card are written at the end of the survey. To receive the gift card, you must be able to prove that you live in the City of Detroit.

This survey is only for people who live in the City of Detroit. If you live in surrounding areas like Hamtramck or Harper Woods, you are not eligible to take the survey at this time. We hope to expand the survey to the broader metro Detroit area in future years.
