In March 2023, the Board of the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority) agreed that the Years 11 and 12 Japanese: Second Language ATAR syllabuses would be reviewed. A working party was established to develop draft Years 11 and 12 syllabuses. The next step of the review process is a public consultation of the draft revised syllabus.
The Authority’s consultation processes are designed to provide opportunity for comprehensive statewide consultation with interested individuals, key interest groups, including schools currently delivering the courses. Feedback from the consultation will be considered to further refine the final drafts of the syllabuses.
