This survey is conducted by IFLA Bibliography Section to gather insights on how National Bibliographic Agencies (NBAs) are addressing the challenges of accessibility metadata. Accessibility metadata refers to information that describes how books and other resources are made accessible to users with disabilities or special needs.
Recent legislative changes, such as the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882), aim to improve the resource discovery experience for library users with disabilities. Despite these advancements, there is still a lack of clear guidelines and standard practices for recording accessibility metadata.
The survey seeks to understand how NBAs are managing this complex issue. We invite you to share your current practices, challenges, and information needs related to accessibility. Your participation will help us identify areas where further guidance and support are needed.
Thank you for taking the time to contribute to this important survey. Your input is invaluable in helping us enhance accessibility of cultural and intellectual publishing output.
