2025 - IARC Mid-Career Visiting Scientist Application Form

Preparing your application


 
Please read these instructions carefully
Before you start completing this application form, please ensure that you 
  • fulfil all eligibility criteria as described in our call and in our FAQs. 
  • get in touch with your chosen IARC Host Branch and IARC collaborator as early as possible to set-up a collaborative project and prepare your research proposal. A fitting match to and support from the IARC Host Branch and IARC collaborator are essential. 
  • contact your two referees (at least one current or former supervisor) as early as possible to ensure that the two required letters of reference are uploaded, in PDF format, with your application by the deadline. More information below.
Download the following forms, which are to be attached to your online application and complete them accordingly (please upload all documents in PDF format prior to submission):
  1. Biographical sketch and publication list
  2. Motivation letter (including your research interests, future plans and motivation to apply for an IARC Mid-Career Visiting Scientist Award)
  3. Research proposal of planned collaborative project
  4. Proof of ongoing affiliation/post of return to after the Award 
Note regarding your reference letters:
Letters need to include official letterhead of institute and signature. Reference letters should be from at least one current or former supervisor and should not be older than a year at the time of the application deadline and provide an overview of your academic and/or professional achievements. They need to be uploaded directly to this application form.

Note regarding your ongoing affiliation/post to return to:
The proof of ongoing affiliation/post to return to needs to include signature and if possible official stamp from your employer. It needs to be uploaded directly to this application form.

When starting to fill in your application form,
  • make sure that all fields marked with an asterisk (*) are completed
  • once you have answered the questions on one page, click the "next" button (bottom of the page)
  • save your work and come back to your application form:
              1. click on "save and continue survey later" at the top of the page; this will save your 
                  current answers.
              2. enter a valid email address. 
              3. the system will send you an email with a link to retrieve your form.
              4. when you come back, the system will bring you to the last page you completed.

Please note that if you close the application form without using the "save and continue later", your work will be lost and you will have to restart a form.
