The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine is seeking suggestions for experts to be considered for the membership rotation or other engagement with the Leadership Committee and/or the Advisory Committee for the Action Collaborative on Preventing Sexual Harassment in Higher Education.
The Leadership Committee guides and oversees the work of the Action Collaborative and ensures our work reaches senior leaders and reflects the realities of making organizational change in higher education. It includes senior leaders from the higher education community and leaders of large research teams who have experience leading institutions to achieve goals for addressing and preventing sexual harassment across all disciplines and among all people in higher education.
The Advisory Committee provides advice to the National Academies staff and ensures that the Collaborative's work is grounded in research, inclusive of diverse voices, reflective of the experiences of survivors, and consistent with the findings and recommendations of the 2018 National Academies report on the Sexual Harassment of Women. It includes social science researchers, legal experts, non-profit leaders, and higher education practitioners and administrators who are focused on the topics of sexual harassment, sexual violence, bullying, discrimination, and bias, with an emphasis on how these behaviors occur in higher education workplaces and education environments.
National Academies staff will be looking to fill 7 open seats on the committee of approximately 20 total volunteer experts in addition to collecting information for potential speakers, participants, and other forms of engagement.
Please indicate "Leadership" or "Advisory" in your submission through "Other Qualifications."
