US Foreign Policy and Funding Cuts:
A Response from the Disability Community
Our goals: Disability Rights International (DRI) and the United States International Council on Disabilities (USICD) are disability groups based in the United States committed to the protection and full inclusion of people with disabilities worldwide.
Our global disability rights commitment: To advance global peace, prosperity, and the well-being of the United States and others, the United States government should be a fully engaged partner in the international community, respecting and advancing democracy, human rights and the full inclusion of people with disabilities.
This survey: To lay the groundwork for our advocacy, we need the facts. We are documenting the impact on people with disabilities of recent developments in US foreign policy and cutoffs in US funds. We will use this data to seek continued US funding and support for disability rights around the world.
Please join us for an online international community listening and advocacy forum on February 13 at 10am ET (New York Time). Click here to register. We will present the initial results of this survey and hear from disability activists in the United States and around the world with ideas on next steps. ASL and ISL interpreting provided.
Your privacy will be protected – You may respond to the survey anonymously without providing your name or contact information. You may also use a pseudonym when registering for the above event. But sharing this information will help corroborate this data and will allow us to follow-up with you regarding future advocacy.
