Jacksonville Pedestrian Plaza - Concept Designs and Programming

Welcome!

Project Background
The City of Jacksonville is working to create a community space on N 3rd Street. The N 3rd Street Plaza Project is meant to create a public space that complements and enhances Downtown’s vibrant pedestrian streetscape. This survey focuses on the opportunities for events and two potential design concepts under consideration. The goals for the project are to:
  • Increase business activity Downtown
  • Create a unique outdoor environment for people sitting, walking, and rolling
  • Create a design that’s long-lasting with materials and plantings that are easy to maintain
We are asking for your input to help the City better understand how a potentially redesigned N 3rd Street could best serve residents and visitors. We want to hear your thoughts and perspectives on how best to celebrate the community through a new accessible and active public space.

The diagrammatic image identifies the project site area, which extends between C and California Street and also demarcates the location of significant buildings along N 3rd Street, including Trotting Fox Boutique, historic Beekman Bank, the United States Hotel Building, Jacksonville Inn, the Fire Department, and the newly constructed building to the east of the Fire Department.
