VISION Mentoring Program Interest Form

We appreciate your interest in the VISION Mentoring Program, a joint initiative of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology (AUPO).

We'll notify you when the 2026 application cycle opens in fall 2025 by sharing your information below.

The VISION Mentoring Program aims to reduce barriers to eye care and improve patient outcomes by expanding access to careers in ophthalmology. The program provides selected students with:

One-on-one mentorship form practicing ophthalmologists
Personalized guidance in medical career planning
Professional networking opportunities
Access to educational resources and residency preparation tools

Eligibility: Students must enter their first medical school year in the 2025-2026 academic year at a U.S. allopathic (MD) or osteopathic (DO) medical school accredited by LCME or COCA.

We welcome students with a demonstrated interest in improving access to high-quality eye care.
