Session 1 - 9:00-10:00 a.m.  |  Differentiating the Digital Classroom – Grades K-7
Did you know that the Digital Classroom has features to allow differentiation of learning experiences for your students? This collection of 17 core online resources is accessible without login from school sites for you and your students. This session covers available resources, their grade levels, and advanced search features such as adjusting reading levels, read-aloud options, video learning, Lexile level limits, and translation capabilities.

Session 2 - 9:00-10:00 a.m.  |  IDÉLLO: Introduction for K-8 French Immersion Teachers

Session 3 - 9:00-10:00 a.m.  |  Google No More! Part 1 – Grades 8-12
Let’s look at the entire Digital Classroom collection and investigate the research options that exist…without having to roll the dice on a Google Search. This session is appropriate for Grades 8-12, and applicable to any digital environment—Microsoft 365, Google Classroom, or online.

 
Block 2 Webinar Sessions  10:15 - 11:15 a.m.

Session 4 - 10:15-11:15 a.m.  |  Google No More! Part Deux – Grades 4-12
Using just two resources from the Digital Classroom, let’s make a plan for a research or inquiry project. Tools in the resources include saving, citing, and creative ways to present, all within a secure and user-friendly environment. This session is suitable for Grades 4-12, and applicable to any environment—virtual, hybrid, Microsoft 365 or Google Classroom.

Note: attendance in Part One not required to attend Part Deux.


Session 5 - 10:15-11:15 a.m.  |  Student Cybersecurity Awareness Lessons 
These Security Awareness Lessons are presented by Fortinet and developed by Canadian educators for use in the classroom. These lessons are designed to support students in learning how to apply cybersecurity skills to their digital interactions at school, at home, and everywhere they go. The Security Awareness Curriculum includes teacher guides, ready-to-teach lesson plans, lesson slides, student handouts, and video multimedia assets. Available now: set of seven lessons for ages 12-14, and one lesson for ages 8-11, with more in development.


Session 6 - 10:15-11:15 a.m.  |  Live It Earth for K-7 English and French Immersion
The Live It Earth bilingual suite focuses on place-based, hybrid learning experiences. It offers hours of video-rich cross-curricular programming, informed by Indigenous perspectives and supplemented by extensive instructional supports. It includes how-to videos, inquiry guides, slide shows and professional development materials, and allows for the customization of presentation materials. New and refreshed programs join the growing catalogue each year. Join us for an overview of this Focused Education-supported resource.

Session 8 - 11:30-12:30 p.m.  |  TWIG: Supporting Math & Science
Twig is tailor-made for teachers in Grades 6-9. The Twig website provides school-wide access to thousands of three-minute films for Science, Math, and Geography, as well as worksheets, lesson plans, quizzes and diagrams. Twig resources are easy to use. This session will provide an overview of the resources available in TWIG and examples as to how teachers would be able to use it in the classroom. Find out what you've been missing or bring your own Twig success stories to share.


 
Block 4 Webinar Session  12:00 - 1:30 p.m.

Session 9 - 12:00-1:30 p.m.  |  NFB Media School: Digital Storytelling
This session introduces the National Film Board’s digital storytelling online mini-course Media School, an introduction for students (Gr. 7-12) to media production. Media School is easy-to-use and encourages students to become visual storytellers while gaining new competencies around narrative skills and expression of creativity. In Media School, students navigate through videos and interactive activities related to the different stages of film production and acquire the tools to create their own digital stories with photos, narration, and music using smartphones and widely available software. This resource integrates with several school subjects (Arts, Social Sciences, French and English, etc.) and provides assessment tools and teacher guides.
