2025 DEP Southwest District Environmental Stewardship Achievement Award

DEP’s Southwest District office is excited to announce a call for nominations for its Environmental Stewardship Achievement Awards Program, which recognizes those who are working alongside DEP to Protect Florida Together by safeguarding the state’s natural resources and enhancing its ecosystems.

The program recognizes businesses, professional and community organizations, and local governments within DEP's Southwest District for exceptional achievements in preventing or reducing impacts on the environment. To be considered for recognition, participants must demonstrate proactive, innovative and measurable achievements that exceed regulatory requirements and provide a direct benefit to our environment in one or more of the following categories:
  • Reducing environmental impacts.
  • Conserving resources.
  • Enhancing ecosystems.
  • Remediating environmental impacts.
Additional criteria that will be considered:
  • An organizational culture of environmental stewardship.
  • Continuous improvement and growth of environmental programs.
  • Environmental education and outreach components.
  • Innovation and exceptional achievement in environmental stewardship.
Rules and Instructions:
  1. The Southwest District Environmental Stewardship Achievement Awards Program is open to Florida businesses, industries, professional and community organizations, and local governments located within Citrus, Hardee, Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas and Polk counties.
  2. This nomination form must be submitted by close of business Friday, Feb. 28, 2025. Optional supportive materials may be sent by email to Brian.Humphreys@FloridaDEP.gov but should be limited to 10 pages and must also be received by Feb. 28, 2025.
Winners will be recognized at the Southwest District's annual Open House on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at 13051 N. Telecom Parkway, Suite 101, in Temple Terrace. Please contact Brian Humphreys at Brian.Humphreys@FloridaDEP.gov or 813-470-5746 with any questions.
