Under new state legislation, middle housing includes two or more attached, stacked, or clustered homes including duplexes, triplexes, fourplexes, fiveplexes, sixplexes, townhouses, stacked flats, courtyard apartments, and cottage housing; however, not all of these middle housing types are required in Medina.

The City of Medina is required to allow for middle housing types that allow for two primary units or one primary unit and two accessory units.
