What is the DHS 163 Technical Advisory Committee?
This group will give input on revisions to Wisconsin Admin. Code ch. DHS 163. Input will go to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS). DHS runs the lead certification program in Wisconsin.
Who can be a part of the committee?
Anyone interested can apply. We’re looking for:
- Representatives from local health departments administering local lead programs
- Representatives from the housing industry
- Lead professionals certified under DHS 163
- Representatives from the medical or public health professions
- Advocates for persons at risk of lead poisoning
- Residents of a 1st class city (Milwaukee)
- Representatives of facilities serving children under 6 years of age
How does the committee work?
Members will attend one or more online meetings per year through the revision process. You'll talk with DHS lead program team members about proposed revisions to the rule, ask questions, and provide input. If smaller workgroups are necessary to focus on specific aspects of the rule, you may be invited to join one based on your area of expertise.

Complete this interest survey before March 1, 2025. Responses can be short. A resume or short summary about you and your experience is welcome but not required.
The lead program will select committee members. Please note, applying does not guarantee you will be chosen for the committee. If selected, we'll contact you about your availability to meet.
