Rental Property Grant Application 2025

Application Instructions

Up to $7000 per unit in grant funding is available for rental properties to improve climate resilience, water efficiency, and energy efficiency.  Eligible projects include: 

• Furnaces, heat pumps, air conditioners, or evaporative ("swamp") coolers
• Windows
• Insulation
• Weather proofing
• Water conservation upgrades (toilets, washing machines, irrigation timers, etc.)

Other projects will be considered, but must demonstrate that they will increase the energy efficiency/water efficiency/climate resilience of the property. 

Fort Collins Utilities customers can access low or no-cost energy assessments to identify recommended projects.  More information is available here:https://efficiencyworks.org/homes/efficiency-audits/.
 
Applications are due by March 3rd at 5 PM.

Applications will be reviewed after the deadline.  You will receive an email on the status of your application by March 21st.  Please plan to begin work as soon as possible after you receive notification of funding.  Funds can be spent through November 30th, 2025, but these grants are intended to meet immediate needs.

The City of Fort Collins has selected licensed contractors to complete most project work. If awarded a grant, you will schedule the work with one of these contractors.  Contractors will ask you to sign a work completion form after the service is completed. Then contractors will invoice Neighborhood Services directly for payment.

Grant recipients are NOT responsible for—
1) Submitting invoice or work completion form
2) Receiving money directly and paying contractors for awarded service

Grant recipients MAY be asked to provide additional funds to cover the cost of services beyond $7000, but it is not required.
