10. Presentation Tags

We are seeking proposals that draw attention to a continuum of EBPs and CDEPs. In addition, we are interested in submissions that focus on technical assistance, such as presentations that serve as “how-to” guides for implementing EBPs and CDEPs. We encourage submissions from professions in across systems (e.g., Criminal Justice, Health Care, Education, Law, Public Health, Social Services, Affordable/Supportive Housing, Etc.) with whom we collaborate and whose work informs the behavioral health delivery system. The tags are a way to describe panels and presentations in the conference agenda so that attendees will be able to quickly identify if a session will discuss specific communities, EBPs, CDEPs, organization types, social drivers of health, statewide initiatives, and behavioral health provider types. Please select all the applicable tags related to your submission.

Conference Tracks 

The Conference Planning Committee has developed Conference Tracks to make it easier for attendees to find the sessions that are most relevant to them. If applicable, please select the relevant track to your submission. 

To meet Conference Track eligibility, CIBHS is seeking to have representation of EBPs in children and youth, family therapies, treatments addressing substance use, and peer run programs. Presenters are encouraged to showcase how adaptations can enhance effectiveness while also improving accessibility and cultural relevance. 



Considerations for each Evidence-Based Practice (EBP):  
 

  • Cultural Adaptations 

  • Target Populations: Tailoring adaptations for specific groups such as child welfare, juvenile justice, and the unhoused. 

  • Implications for Practice and Policy 

  • Outcome Measurement and Client Engagement 

  • Challenges and Solutions: Common barriers to implementation and sustainability and strategies to overcome these challenges 
     

Presentations showcasing the following EBPs are strongly encouraged:

 

1. Children & Youth-Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)



Presentations on (TF-CBT) may include: 
 

  • Overview of TF-CBT: Core components and recent developments. 

  • Adapting TF-CBT for varied populations: Implementing TF-CBT in child welfare, school environments, and family contexts that involve diverse caregiver dynamics (such as grandparents and incarcerated parents). 

  • Culturally responsive practices: Adjustments for specific racial, ethnic, and indigenous communities. 

  • Incorporating Technology in TF-CBT: Utilizing digital tools and apps, as well as telehealth options, to enhance accessibility. 


 

2. Family Therapy-Functional Family Therapy (FFT)  



Presentations on FFT may include:  
 

  • The structure, core interventions, and outcomes of FFT 

  • Implementation across various settings, including juvenile justice, child welfare, and community mental health programs 

  • Cultural adaptations: Tailoring FFT for different racial and ethnic backgrounds, socioeconomic groups, and family dynamics 

  • Expanding access: Scaling FFT through telehealth and community-based or residential programs 


 

3. Substance Abuse Treatments - Evidence-Based Practices for Adults 
 

  • ACT (Assertive Community Treatment): Intensive, team-oriented interventions for individuals with severe co-occurring disorders 

  • DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy): Modifications for substance use treatment, such as "dialectical abstinence" and distress tolerance techniques 

  • MI (Motivational Interviewing): Its application in substance use treatment to boost engagement and readiness for change 

  • Cultural considerations: Adapting these treatments for diverse populations and communities, including street medicine for unhoused clients 

  • Data utilization: Strategies to enhance engagement through data-driven approaches 


 

4. Youth-Led Program Design such as Allcove 

Consider assembling a panel of experts for programs designed by youth for youth. Presentations can explore: 
 

  • Success stories 

  • Key elements in designing youth-centric programs 

  • Youth-specific data collection for monitoring success 

  • Client engagement strategies 

  • Tailored adaptations Technology utilization

12. Educational Objectives

Enter 3 educational objectives.
Enter at least 3 educational objectives. Every program offered for CE credit must have predetermined learning objectives. Rather than a description of topics to be covered, learning objectives should clearly define what the participant will know or be able to do as a result of having attended the program, and these objectives must be stated in measurable terms. Your educational objectives must clearly describe a) what participants are expected to learn; and b) how participants can apply this knowledge in practice or other professional contexts. 
 
Refer to Pages 7-9 in the Call for Presentations [link] as a guide to helping you choose the correct verbs for your learning objectives. All objectives must start with “After attending this session, participants will be able to … ” then utilize at least one of the approved verbs.

Here are examples of learning objectives:

Practice example:
Participants will be able to apply three or more principles of trauma-informed care to improve the therapeutic milieu of STRTPs and promote positive outcomes among youth placed in congregate care.

Quality Improvement example:
Participants will be able to construct three metrics for monitoring access and timeliness of care to improve quality of service delivery in the public behavioral health system.

Include at least three (3) current (within the past 10 years), relevant (aligned with learning objectives and content), supporting (e.g., peer reviewed journal articles for criteria 1.1 and 1.3), and complete references (in APA format) as evidence that the program content has met the requirements of a specific criterion.
