Interest Form: 24-25 Spring Global Leaders Academy

Please complete this interest form and stay tuned for future opportunities!

The Office of Multilingual Learners is pleased to invite high schools to express their interest for Global Leaders Academy,  a program designed to expose young change-makers who identify as English Language Learners and/or immigrant students to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). Through this program, students are afforded a unique opportunity to develop their leadership, language, and other critical 21st century skills.

The Global Leaders Academy was first launched as a summer program in 2023. After two successful years of running the program in the summer, we are piloting an in-school model with select schools!  This in-school launch will help inform the expansion of the program to an increased number of multilingual and immigrant students, particularly English Language Learners who may be excluded from other work-based learning opportunities.

Benefits of the program include:
  • Participation in United Nations Sustainable Development Goals workshops to develop leadership skills and a growth mindset.
  • Understanding of what it means to become a Social Entrepreneur.
  • Engagement with global leaders from varied organizations, including Permanent Missions to the United Nations.
  • Learning about Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts
  • Developing solutions to real-world challenges and present them to national impact leaders
  • Stipend upon program completion
Please complete this form to express your interest in the program. Completing this form is not an application. When program opportunities arise, we will be sure to be in touch.
