NEOMED - GENERAL SURVEY

Introduction

In 2020, through an extensive collaborative effort, the NEOMED community came together and formed a clear roadmap for moving the University forward. I want you to know how proud I am of the accomplishments you and your colleagues have made over the past few years in implementing our strategic plan. Together we have made significant progress toward meeting the objectives of our 2020-2025 strategic plan: “Creating Transformational Leaders.” Those goals include our efforts to deliver an exceptional student experience, strengthen NEOMED’s academics and research, enhance our reputation, and attract exceptional faculty, staff, researchers and students.

As we embark on identifying the next generation of priorities, I ask for your help once again. While our University is complex and has many initiatives underway, there are specific strategies aimed at institutional excellence that, if achieved, will further elevate NEOMED’s reputation and prestige locally, regionally and nationally. Achieving the highest levels of excellence is a "long game" and is not accomplished in one or two years. It requires an understanding of where we are now and where we want to be in the future. It requires us to set priorities and work toward achieving those levels of excellence in a systematic manner. I call this next phase of our strategic blueprint the “Strategic Plan Refresh.”

You are an essential part of the University community. We want to gather insights from individuals in our community on some key strategic initiatives so we can better focus our priorities and achieve our objectives.  As you answer these questions, please consider how we might engage the wider University community in order to generate enthusiasm and yield actionable initiatives that move us forward to excellence across the institution.

Your answers will be confidential and anonymous. All information you provide will be carefully reviewed, sorted and considered. The survey does not have to be completed in one setting as there is an option to save your work and return later. We would greatly appreciate if you would complete and return this survey on or before Dec. 1, 2024. If you have any difficulties with the survey or have any questions, please email Dr. Sally Kandel at sally.kandel@icloud.com.

No academic institution has achieved excellence without the involvement and support of the entire University community. Your responses will help serve as a guide for meeting our most critical objectives. Achieving excellence is a collaborative, team effort, so I want to thank you personally for giving these questions your thoughtful attention.

Sincerely,
Dr. John Langell
