Description
The Executive Human Capital Leaders in Education (eHCLE) certification program is a professional development opportunity for accomplished human capital leaders serving in education organizations. Through a ten-month cohort model, participants will receive intensive support from their peers, as well as from subject-matter experts in multiple areas of human capital management.
To earn their eHCLE certification, participants are expected to:
- Attend virtual convenings with their cohort (see schedule below)
- Complete an approved independent project aligned with the eHCLE standards and project quality rubric
- Present their project, either virtually or at AASPA’s Human Capital Leadership Summit
- Provide high-quality feedback on their peers’ projects
We recommend visiting the eHCLE project repository on AASPA's website to see past participants' projects. Doing so may be helpful for getting ideas for your eHCLE independent project. Note that AASPA login credentials are required to access the project repository.

Cost
The cost to participate in the eHCLE program is $3,000. This fee covers program costs as well as registration for the AASPA Human Capital Leadership Summit.
Individuals with financial need may be eligible for a reduced rate.
Many of our education clients use Title IA, Title IIA, Title II grants, and other discretionary grant funding.
Please note that the program cost remains the same whether participants choose to attend the Leadership Summit or not. Additionally, in the rare event that a participant is unable to meet the program expectations and earn their certification, their program fee will not be refunded. AASPA and EXMI will work with participants as needed to extend final project deadlines for a period of no more than 90 days to account for unforeseen circumstances and help them earn their certification. If the requirements are not met by the end of the grace period, participants will not receive their eHCLE certification.
